The Royal Moroccan Navy rescues more than 500 migrants in the waters of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean

MADRID, 20 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Royal Moroccan Navy has announced this Thursday that the coastguards have rescued 552 migrants in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in just under two weeks, according to Moroccan military sources.

The migrants have been rescued between April 8 and 18 aboard different vessels considered unsafe, such as kayaks and jet skis, and some of them were even intercepted by swimming, according to the aforementioned sources have transferred to the MAP news agency.

After the rescue, the migrants, mostly sub-Saharan Africans, received first aid on board the Navy combat units and were later taken to the nearest ports to carry out the usual administrative procedures.
