“The Royal directives contained in the speech are clear. Faced with the major challenges that arise, we must accelerate the strategic projects relating to water management,” he said in a statement to MAP, citing in this regard the projects for the generalization of the transfer of water from hydraulic basins, the completion of the construction program for dams and seawater desalination plants, among others.

Mr. Ksiri, also vice-national coordinator of the Moroccan Alliance for Climate and Sustainable Development (AMCDD), noted that the royal speech demonstrates that the Kingdom, thanks to the clear-sighted vision of the Sovereign, is acting according to a vision and clear strategic orientations for the management of water stress.

Mr. Ksiri noted that thanks to the anticipatory measures undertaken by Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, judicious policies have already been put in place with results that are being felt, citing in this context the National Program for the Supply of Drinking Water and Irrigation 2020-2027, aimed in particular at consolidating and diversifying sources of drinking water supply, ensuring water security and combating the effects of climate change.

Another important aspect, stressed the associative actor, is the royal call for the rationalization of the use of water and the fight against the waste of this invaluable resource, noting that the responsibility in this context lies with everyone to preserve this vital material.
