An appreciable and understandable film even by those who have not even seen a television episode. The film is built on the encounter-clash between two worlds: that of the nobles who live in Downton Abbey and that of the servants who live downstairs and interact with each other. To complicate matters in the film comes the announcement that the king and queen – we are in 1927 – will stop one day at Downton Abbey during their holiday trip. The servants feel honored to serve the queen, it is a pity that before her arrival there is an incursion of a crowd of London servants with the stench under their noses. And things will not go as the royal label would claim. A very funny film and it maintains that desire to tell how the English aristocracy comes to terms with the changing times.
