Not quiet in Likud. MK Dodi Amsalem continues to attack Netanyahu and his supporters, following what he said against him on Friday.

“I was chosen for 4th place in the primaries by the same voters who chose Netanyahu!” Amsalem tweeted this evening, on his Twitter account. “While Netanyahu was persecuted and sewn up, the shouting and wars I did were not problematic. Nobody cared about the style when it served and significantly helped us come to power!” he added.

“Now there’s no need for my uncle – God forbid it won’t hurt the opposition too much?!” Amsalam finished bitterly.

The comments come against the backdrop of Amsalem’s failure to appoint a senior minister or speaker of the Knesset as he wanted. Amsalem, who remained a simple MK in the coalition, was insulted. And on Friday, a number of Likud supporters came to him

Officials in Likud fear: “Dudi Amsalem – a time bomb”

“No one will humiliate David Amsalam. They humiliate all the ‘Muslims’. Not in our party, of which we are 70%. I grew up in Likud, I’m almost the oldest of the entire faction,” he says painfully.

“Should we apologize?”

On the issue of the files, he hints: “In my house, I will not be second class. The majority of Likud voters are ‘Muslims’ and ‘Bitanim.’ It is important from Amsalem and the Likud. That is why we will continue to save the country and strengthen the Jewish issues and take care of the weaker sections,” he concludes.

Amsalem’s long days of silence were accompanied by a number of different speculations. While Amsalem’s office announced a few days ago that he was ill, Likud officials estimated that behind May Golan’s blackmail was cooperation with MK David Bitan. On the other hand, other Likud officials firmly claimed that there was no cooperation with Bitan on the issue.

“He didn’t answer the phones, he claimed he was sick,” a Likud official said this week about the condition of MK Amsalem, who did not receive the position of Speaker of the Knesset or Minister of Justice as he demanded. According to the source at the time: “People in Likud think he’s not answering because he’s angry. Right now he can’t do anything, but it’s a ticking time bomb.”
