The Russian army stores the bodies of soldiers in a meat packing plant

The Russian army lost so many soldiers in its war in Ukraine that it was forced to store the bodies of its dead soldiers in a meat packaging plant that had been redefined as a mortuary, according to Ukrainian sources. The Russians were looking for more refrigerators to store the bodies in the occupied city of Litopol

The intelligence department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s army has run out of space to store the growing number of soldiers killed, and has decided to store the bodies of its dead soldiers in a meat packaging factory redefined as a mortuary.

Officials said the Russians were looking for more refrigerators to store the bodies in the occupied city of Litopol, southeast of the capital Kyiv. “Melitopol’s occupation management is urgently looking for additional industrial freezers and refrigerators,” the statement said.

The statement added: “It is known that the meat packaging plant in the city, which has been converted into a morgue, is already completely full of the bodies of the killed occupiers and can no longer receive it.” The Russian military has begun converting the meat-packing plant into an improvised morgue, the Defense Ministry said. According to reports, the factory owners were ordered to give up the factory free of charge to the Russians.

The forces stored there died in battles near the Zaporizhia region, Ukrainian officials said. “These incidents are related to the great loss of the occupiers,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said in a press release. It was further argued that “the long-term storage of the bodies of the dead stems from the intention of the Russian leadership to hide the true extent of the dead from the Russian public.”

Russian forces occupied Melitopol in February during the first week of the invasion of Ukraine. Last March, Russian military forces placed a new mayor in Melitopol after the elected mayor was abducted by a group of 10 Russian soldiers and later released, but was immediately removed from office.
