With its verdict, the Tambov District Court of Tambov Region has fully satisfied the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Russia based on the fact that Scheffler’s companies finance the Aid Fund of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the court press service reports.

The General Prosecutor’s Office had submitted the claim against Scheffler and the Luxembourg-registered companies “Amber Beverage Group Holding” and “Stoli Group” controlled by him. The General Prosecutor’s Office requested to transfer to the state part of the businessman’s assets located in Russia – the shares of the Tambov region distillery “Amber Talvis” and the Königsberg (Karalyuči) company SPI-RVVK, as well as part of the capital of the company RVVK.

There have been such cases of confiscation of companies in Russia before. According to “Kommersant” newspaper, in December 2023, satisfying a similar demand of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Russia, the Volgograd District Court confiscated the “Konti-Rus” confectionery factory in Kursk from the Ukrainian owners. On the other hand, in February 2024, the confectionery factory of former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his son’s company “Roshen” in Lipetsk was similarly confiscated.

“Amber Latvijas balzams” is part of the international alcoholic beverage production and distribution concern “Amber Beverage Group Holding”, which owns 89.99% of the company’s shares. “Amber Latvijas balzams” shares are listed on the second list of “Nasdaq” Riga Stock Exchange.
