This was reported to RIA Novosti by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. Earlier, the official spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that for the removal of restrictions on Mrs. Nuland, the United States excluded part of the Russians from the sanctions list.

“Konstantin Vorontsov is Acting Deputy Director of the Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control, Head of the Russian Delegation to the Disarmament Commission, our leading representative at the First Committee of the UN General Assembly, whose meeting is taking place,” said Mr. Ryabkov.

Victoria Nuland arrived in Russia today, October 11, and will stay here until October 13. In Moscow, she is to meet with Assistant to the Russian President for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov and Sergei Ryabkov. She was previously on the Russian sanctions list and was refused a Russian visa. As Kommersant has reported, in exchange for lifting the restrictions, Moscow is counting on a reciprocal gesture from Washington.
