Held under the supervision of a new director, Nafisa Kiryanova, the center continues to project Russian influence despite the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Wagner mercenaries have been operating in the CAR since 2018, protecting President Faustin-Archange Touadera and training army recruits. They have played a significant role in the country’s civil conflict and have expanded Russia’s reach in the mineral-rich nation. In addition to the military presence, Wagner has secured mining concessions and is heavily involved in the timber industry.
