The Russians went to Montenegro. What for? | Culture and Lifestyle in Germany and Europe | DW

by time news

The velvet season on the Mediterranean coast attracts tourists, including from Russia. But Montenegro in September for those who speak Russian and appreciate Russian culture has become not only a vacation spot, but also a cultural mecca.

Since 2018, the SlovoNovo Forum of Russian Culture has been held here. And on Thursday, September 23, a new season starts in Budva. In a pandemic, the return to a live format is especially good news.

Seven days of Russian culture

“SlovoNovo” will run until September 30th. Seven days on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro are art exhibitions, discussions, and literary evenings.

As in previous years, the list of announced participants is impressive. Among them are the writer Boris Akunin, and the musician Andrei Makarevich, and the writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya, and the artist Vitaly Komar. It is simply unrealistic to list all the artists, poets, writers, musicians, directors, politicians and businessmen, but all the information can be easily found on the forum website.

DW is the media partner of this event.
