The Russo-Malagasy diplomatic relationship is strengthened! In a joint statement released recently to the press, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvette Sylla and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the country, Andreev Vladimirovich Andrey, confirm this. “Russian-Malagasy cooperation has been strengthened and affects different areas such as health, agriculture, security as well as scholarships and training offers,” the statement said.
“The Malagasy government appreciates Russia’s continued support in Madagascar’s emergence and development process,” the statement said. In addition, “Both parties are convinced of the importance of continuing to share and of working together in order to deepen relations through expanded cooperation open to other areas of common interest”.
Our countries will gain from promoting partnerships in terms of investments in identified priority sectors in order to better face the economic challenges accentuated by the global crises at the health, environmental and political levels, and from making greater use of new technologies in supporting Cooperation.
In 2022, the two countries marked the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. Since September 29, 1972, the two peoples have been linked by relations based on mutual respect and brotherhood. In half a century “Madagascar and Russia are delighted with the maturity of their relations and continue to work together to consolidate them further, for the benefit of their common interests”.
