Kazi Salauddin has been the president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BAFFE) for a long time. His chapter is finally coming to an end. This former footballer will not be elected as president in the next election. Saladin himself said such a decision.

On Saturday (September 14), Salahuddin announced that he would not contest for the post of president in the coming election. It is practically here that Saladin’s Bafufe chapter served for the last four terms. The next election is scheduled to be held on October 26.

Salahuddin said in a press conference at Bafufe Bhavan today, ‘I was in charge for four terms. That’s why I feel very lucky, that such an opportunity has come in my life. Now that the Bafuf election is coming, I will not contest in this election. This is my final decision. I have come to inform you of this.’

After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government on August 5, Bangladesh football-supporters’ organization ‘Bangladesh Football Ultras’ demanded Salahuddin’s resignation. The organization also protested in front of Bafuf twice. The organization then also gave an ultimatum to Salahuddin to resign.

However, ignoring the ultimatum, Salahuddin said on August 13 that he would not resign. In the future, he will be elected for the position of the president of Bafuf again. A month after that announcement, the former footballer changed his position and decided to withdraw from the election.

In total, Salahuddin was the president of BAFUF for four terms. In 2008, Salahuddin became the president of BAFUF for the first time after defeating Amin Ahmed Chowdhury. Then successively in 2012, 2016 and 2020, this accomplished footballer became the highest official of Bangladesh football.
