The Saturnin rooster will be able to continue to sing

by time news

The Saturnin rooster will be able to continue to sing in the barnyard of a family in the hamlet of Villalbe, located in the town of Carcassonne. At the end of last week, the court rejected the complaint of a neighbor inconvenienced by gallinaceous cocoricos, which had made him insomniac, reports France 3 Occitanie.

The latter had sued the owners of the Rooster, born in the spring of 2019, for abnormal disturbance of the neighborhood and asked for damages. As had been the case in the business of the Maurice roosters, on the island of Ré, or Pitikok in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Like its two crested and feathered congeners, Saturnin will not be worried.

During the January hearing, the plaintiff, bailiff’s reports in support, had denounced the nocturnal flights of the gallinaceous, when the other neighbors of the family concerned had assured that they were not embarrassed. The owners had launched a petition pleading “the safeguard of rural heritage”, bringing together nearly 3,000 signatures. They won their case and for Franck Alberti, their lawyer interviewed by France 3, “our fight, and that of the defenders of the campaign, is won”.
