Riyadh – Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced the establishment of a strategic office for the development of the northern border region. The office aims to enhance development in the region’s cities and governorates and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors by investing in the region’s economic, natural and historical potential and strategic location. The new office will be responsible for creating an environment that attracts investors to ensure better economic and developmental progress and provide employment opportunities to citizens.
It will focus on benefiting from the region’s extraordinary potential and invest in natural tourism and heritage features to raise its contribution to the national economy and create a balanced development environment for local foreign investments. This will help diversify the income sources of the citizens and provide employment opportunities to the residents of the region.
The office will address barriers to realizing the economic potential of the region’s governorates in agriculture, tourism, heritage and recreation projects. The new organization builds on previous announcements to launch strategic offices and development commissions in several regions.
