A priest from Kanyakumari district, Benedict Andrew, was arrested and jailed for molesting a nursing student while serving at the Malankarai Church in Pachiparai. It was discovered during the police investigation that Benedict had taken pornographic pictures of many women while allegedly having sex with them. The pictures were shared on social media by individuals who took his laptop. Benedict remained silent during most of the police interrogation but denied forcing or threatening anyone.
Police revealed that Benedict had studied up to Plus 2 and had taken courses in theology and philosophy. He spoke Tamil, English, and Malayalam. While studying in Chennai, Benedict fell in love with a girl and wanted to marry her, but his parents prevented him from doing so. Despite becoming a priest, he stayed in touch with the girl and even took nude pictures with her that ended up on his laptop. Benedict also took photos with other girls he was chatting with on WhatsApp and saved them on his laptop.
The priest’s relationship with the girl from Kollangode became known to her family, leading to Benedict’s arrest. Four other women filed complaints against him, including one from Chennai. Police have decided to take Benedict into custody and question him further.

Benedick spent most of his time with the girl on WhatsApp. Also, he took a photo with all the girls he introduced and saved it on his laptop. Whatsapp, ‘chatting’ is his hobby. While chatting like this, he will know the mood of the woman on the opposite end and talk accordingly.
