Watan Al-Youm: Professional Football League clubs have begun restructuring their teams, in light of the end of the first leg of the league, as the current stage is witnessing clubs dispensing with local and foreign players, due to the scarcity of the clubs’ financial resources and the inability to pay their monthly salaries.
Players preferred to leave for other clubs in the hope of regularly paying their dues, and coaches threatened to leave their teams due to the inability to meet their financial demands, especially with regard to monthly salaries.
The Al-Faisaly team witnessed a major movement in this regard, as the contract of the English professional, Jonathan, was terminated, while the Tunisian professional, Rafik Al-Kamerji, left the team without obtaining the club’s approval, while the Lebanese professional, Mehdi Khalil, asked Al-Faisaly to terminate the contract.
The Galilee team terminated the contracts of 6 of its players, while the Ramtha team players abstained from training in protest against not receiving monthly salaries for a long time.
The Al-Salt team suffers from the irregularity of its players in training due to the absence of salaries, which prompted the Syrian coach, Imad Khankan, to issue a warning to the club about the need to pay the salaries, noting that the Al-Salt team began to terminate the contracts of a number of players due to the financial crisis it is suffering from.
All professional football clubs, with the exception of the Al-Hussein Irbid team, are suffering from financial crises that have affected the stability of the technical performance of their teams, knowing that the next stage will witness more clashes between players and administrations due to the scarcity of financial resources.
The coach of the Galilee team, Muhammad Al-Ababneh, confirmed that professional clubs suffer from a lack of technical stability, as a result of the absence of financial stability.
He added in a press statement, “The players have been demanding their late salaries for months, and this prompted a number of players to demand that their contracts be terminated, while other players resorted to implementing instructions that allow them to leave their teams due to delayed salary payments.”
National coach Islam Dhiabat says that the financial problem currently represents the biggest challenge for Jordanian football, and effective solutions must be found to get rid of the current situation that threatens the development of clubs and national teams.
