The second generation of AirPods Pro brings improved sound quality and longer battery life

by time news

Apple has announced the second generation of AirPods Pro, its most advanced wireless headphones. Their external design does not reveal any changes compared to the original model, but they come with a new chipset called H2 which Apple claims provides both improved sound quality and more accurate noise filtering.

In the ‘ambient listening’ mode, Apple claims that the new AirPods Pro are able to differentiate between sounds you want to hear (such as calls or messages), and unwanted background noise in any situation. According to Apple, the updated sound components offer “rich bass” and “sharp and clean sound”, although even in this generation the AirPods Pro do not support playing music in full quality (Lossless), although the music service Apple Music actually offers songs of this quality.

The new AirPods Pro 2 now come with a touchpad that allows volume control. The improved battery time is six hours per charge, and up to 30 hours together with the carrying case. The same case now supports the Find My service for quick locating, and also comes with a built-in speaker that allows a sound to be played when searching for it. It also supports charging via the Apple Watch charger, alongside wireless charging via standard Qi chargers.

The AirPods Pro will be available for purchase in the US starting September 23, at a price starting at $249. Apple maintains loyalty to the color white, and it will not be possible to choose other colors for this model.
