Candela, a play that is a true story about optimism and about the struggle to conquer our dreams, will soon return to the Cuban cultural scene in its second premiere season, the Jazz Vilá Projects communication team announced today.
The presentations will begin in Cárdenas, Matanzas, on Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7, and will later move to its usual stage in La Rampa starting on Friday, April 14.
In the case of the premiere at the La Rampa Cinema, the show will take place at 8:30 pm, and will remain at this time for the duration of the season, with two weekly frequencies (Friday and Saturday).
In its first season, Candela was considered by critics to be an intelligent and musically exquisite comedy and, according to several attendees at the productions, the play exploits the interaction with the audience to the maximum at all times.
The fun dynamics of the work does not prevent him from touching deep and sensitive themes such as frustration, the crisis of values and emotional resistance from a hopeful perspective and from the desire to continue and get ahead.
From the point of view of production, once again Jazz Vilá opts for aesthetic minimalism, but this time with a great gift that comes in the form of music, since the soundtrack interprets well-known compositions from the musical memory of the nation.
The cast includes Michel Penton, Laura Tarrao, Yordanka Ariosa, Tony Lugones, Vania Borges and Marlon Pijuan.
Ticket reservations for the entire season are available through Whatsapp +53 50286658 or the Ticket application, indicates the Jazz Vilá Projects press release.
Regarding his work, Vilá himself, an essential of Cuban theater in the last decade, said in an exclusive interview for Cuba News 360 that the play emerged as a spark, now it is a great phoenix that is going to give fire to the Cuban theater.
Candela takes melancholy to laughter and vice versa, and leaves the audience with the good taste of remembering that all is not lost.
In the first season, applause flooded the room after each presentation and this time, the theater is almost ready for the enjoyment of the public and for more nights of emotion and gratitude to the cast and its creator.
