Ranchi: The second match of the Twenty20 cricket series between India and New Zealand will be played today. India can win the three-match Twenty20 series 2-0 if they win the match from 7 pm in Ranchi. India had won the first Twenty20 in Jaipur by five wickets. So far only two Twenty20s have been played at the Jharkhand Cricket Association Ground in Ranchi. One of them was drenched in rain. Those who win the toss are more likely to bat second. The evening temperature is 17 degrees Celsius and partly cloudy.

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill could break Virat Kohli’s record of 3227 runs in the Twenty20s today. With 11 more runs, Guptill will be the top scorer in the Twenty20s. Third-ranked Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is 142 runs behind Kohli. New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips is aiming for 100 sixes in the Twenty20 this year. Phillips has hit 94 sixes so far.

Leg-spinner Ish Sodhi also has a great record against India. Sodhi took 19 wickets in 13 matches. India are unlikely to make a change in the final XI.

Left-arm spinner Akshar Patel is likely to be replaced by leg-spinner Yusvendra Chahal in the last match. Excluding the letter will weaken the batting at the tail end. New Zealand are likely to drop Ravindra and Asley, who played in the last match. There are indications that James Neesham will replace Ish Sodhi.

Probable team: India – Rohit Sharma (captain), Lokesh Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Akshar Patel / Yusvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, R. Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Muhammad Siraj.

Probable team: New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Tim Seifert, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Trent Bolt, Luke Ferguson, Ish Sodhi.
