A British woman in her 20s has caught the attention of netizens after successfully losing 48 kg in just one year.

Millie Slater, who lives in Northamptonshire, central England, posted an unbelievable before and after diet video on TikTok on the 1st.

In the video, Slater shows himself weighing around 250 pounds in January 2023, then transitions to a more svelte version 12 months later. He now weighs 140 pounds.

As of 1:00 PM on the 27th, this video has been viewed over 432,500 times and received over 53,200 likes, receiving a hot response.

“The secret to losing 250 pounds to 140 pounds in 12 months was consistency,” Slater told Newsweek.

Slater joined a gym and achieved his goal by doing strength training (weight training) six times a week, walking as much as possible, and walking on a treadmill with an increased incline. He also consumed enough protein and paid attention to calorie management. He did not choose his favorite foods, such as chocolate, as long as he did not exceed 1,500 kcal per day.

“I started walking on a treadmill at an incline, then started weight training, which made working out at the gym less boring,” Slater said. “My workouts have changed a lot over the past year and a half, but I’ve still been walking on an incline because I don’t like running.”

“Consistency is key because weight loss isn’t something you can do in a few weeks,” explains professional trainer Alasdair Nicholl. “It’s a long-term commitment because if you regularly reduce your calorie intake, your body will gradually start to use stored fat for energy, which will result in weight loss.”
