Stefano Mainetti, 65 years old, he married Elena Sofia Ricci in 2003. Previously Ricci had been married to the writer Luca Damiani. Their marriage failed after his alleged relationship with Nancy Brilli. After this disappointment Ricci met Mainetti who became the father of her second daughter Maria, born in 2004.
In December 2022, after almost twenty years together, Mainetti and Ricci have decided to break up. The choice to take different paths would have been taken by mutual agreement and dictated by a crisis that was now irreparable.
Mainetti began his studies under the guidance of the poet Giorgio Caproni. After obtaining his high school diploma he attended the Santa Cecilia Conservatory where he completed the Composition course with honors and honorable mention. He studies orchestral conducting with Cesare Croci and publishes a thesis on Wagnerian politics.
He later began writing music for cinema, for the theater and for television, initially in Italy and then also landed in the United States where he began writing soundtracks for films including Shooter – Attack in Prague by Ted Kotcheff, Silent Trigger and Talos – The Shadow of the Pharaoh by Russell Mulcahy. In Italy, however, he wrote the soundtrack for the television series Orgoglio which in 2005 earned him the Cinemusic prize at the Ravello Festival as best theme for Italian fiction.
In 2014, for Musa Comunicazione, he published the book “Nazi musical policy and the influence of the Wagnerian cult”. In 2021 he is co-author, together with Simone Corelli and Gilberto Martinelli, of the treatise “Dialogues, Music, Effects – Sound in the audiovisual”. The book, published by Lambda, received critical recognition at the “Città di Cattolica International Literary Award”. In June 2017 he presented the Rendering Revolution project to the public for which he obtained the Honorable Mention from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome for its scientific and artistic value.
Elena Sofia Ricci’s daughters they were born to two different fathers. The first, Emma, has a surname of Quartullo just like the actor and voice actor Pino Quartullo, the Florentine actress’s first husband. The girl made herself known for having become part of the cast of Vivi e Let Live, a fiction broadcast on Rai 1. The second, however, bears the surname Mainetti and was born from the second marriage of her mother to Stefano Mainetti.
