The serial project ‘The Driver’s Son’by Isaki Lacuesta, has been selected in the ‘Co-Pro Series’ of the Berlinale Co-Production Market 2023. As part of the Berlinale Co-production Market the Co-Pro Series is held (February 21-22), which selects 10 series projects from Europe, Canada and Latin America that seek international partners. ‘The Chauffeur’s Son’ is one political thriller based on the novel of the same name by Jordi Amat. In addition to directing it, Lacuesta also takes care of the script in collaboration with Isa Campo and Cristóbal Garrido.
Among the projects selected in the 9th edition of Co-Pro Series is the Catalan series ‘El fill del xofer’, directed by Isaki Lacuesta and produced by Zeta Studios. The series project has the help of Europa Creativa MEDIA al Desenvolupo (Slate Funding) and the support of ICEC and TV3.
The book is a thriller about journalism, blackmail and corruption set in Catalonia where Jordi Pujol He won one election after another. Taking the path of the journalist and lawyer, Alfons Quintà, Amat weaves a story about the power and influence peddling that marked an era.
