The VK company (formerly Mail.ru Group) has launched the dating service VK Dating in the VKontakte mobile application. There you can send anonymous likes and search for users with a similar musical taste.
The service started working on the basis of the Lovina application, which the social network launched in 2019 as an experiment. You can send anonymous confessions through the “Likes” button, the sender’s name will be revealed to the addressee only if he also sends a liking or purchases a premium subscription. In addition, the algorithms of the service will unite users by age, distance, interests and music preferences. When paying for a subscription, the user will also be able to put “super likes” with comments.
“In the future, we plan to add community and meeting matching, so we can find a friend to go to a concert, festival or art lecture, discuss favorite books or even meet a business partner. It is important for us that this is a service where you can meet “your” person, ”the words of the project manager Vladimir Makhov are quoted in a press release on the social network.
Earlier, the YuMoney payment system calculated that Russians spent tens of times more money on promoting their accounts in dating applications than a year earlier. The number of subscribers purchasing paid services has grown 70 times compared to the same period in 2020 and 68 times by May 2019, and the average check for paid services in dating increased by 30%, to 327 rubles.
