Fara Diba Pahlavi, the last Empress of Iran and the widow of the last Shah of Iran, calls for the overthrow of the regime in her country and the intervention of the West.
In an interview with i24NEWS, Pahlavi said that it is possible that the current wave of protests will lead to the destabilization of the regime: “The whole world supports the memory of Massa and freedom for women in Iran. There is so much poverty in a rich country like Iran. I hope that this regime will fall. Countries change the system of the regime, usually For the better, but going from Koresh the Great to Khomeini is unthinkable.” The Shah’s eldest son, Reza Pahlavi, added that they are in contact with many people in Iran: “Most of them are fed up with this regime and want to be freed from it.”
Pahlavi went on to say that “this is the first time we have seen a protest of this magnitude in Iran. There is a possibility (that the protest will destabilize the regime) because there has never been such a protest movement, maybe ten years ago, but especially now, the whole world supports the memory of Massa and freedom for women in Iran.
The West can help by telling what is happening in Iran, all the atrocities that are happening under the regime, to let the world hear the voices of the men and women in Iran, young and old, who are working. This regime that is there is corrupt, has done so much damage, murdered so many people. In a rich country like Iran there is so much poverty. People don’t have food, they don’t have jobs, children go to collect alms on the street, go to look for food in garbage cans, it’s unthinkable. The West can help them a lot.”
Pahlavi, who was the empress of Iran until the overthrow of the regime in 1979 and the exile of her husband the Shah, added that she calls for the overthrow of the regime: “I do not recognize my countrymen, they have changed many of my people and I hope that this regime will fall.
