«The shapes of water»: the deepest underwater theater in the world

It is called «Y-40® The deep joy» and it is the deepest thermal water pool in the world. An Italian excellence that has many underwater and non-submerged spaces, making it the only structure capable of becoming an underwater theater. The most important aspect, however, is that of knowing how to model the “shape of water”: creating bubbles, handling fabrics underwater and moving in a sinuous way despite the depth. On 28 June, at his headquarters in Montegrotto Terme (Padua), he showed the media for the first time how an underwater show is created. For the occasion, the well-known freedivers and underwater dancers Julie Gautier and Dada Li performed in some unreleased performances directed by Behind the mask, the international crew specialized in aquatic visuals coordinated by the German videomaker Florian Fischer. To open the underwater show Julie Gautier, who became world famous for directing underwater videos, such as Beyoncé’s “Runnin ‘”, and the interpretation of the masterpiece “Ama”, which has recorded millions of views worldwide . For the occasion, the French artist gave a world premiere in «Narcissus». Through his evolutions in apnea, he retraced the myth of Narcissus, from the passion for his own reflected image, to the curse of its elusiveness.
