The share of AvtoVAZ in the Russian market increased to 27.9%

The share of the domestic automaker AvtoVAZ in the Russian market in 2022 increased by 6.9 p.p. to 27.9%. This was stated by AvtoVAZ sales director Vitaly Osipov at the company’s annual final conference.

“According to its own assessment, the market share of Lada in Russia amounted to 27.9% at the end of the year, while in the autumn months the market share of the brand reached 40%,” AvtoVAZ noted.

However, Osipov said that last year sales fell by 46% to 188,600 vehicles. At the same time, overall car sales in Russia decreased by 59%.

The head of the company, Maxim Sokolov, noted that AvtoVAZ plans to increase the export of cars to 30,000 units this year. Over the past year, cars were sold to 17 countries, in total over 17,200 cars were sold.

In addition, Sokolov pointed to the possibility of launching mass production of cars with automatic transmission. According to him, this could happen as early as this year.

The net profit of AvtoVAZ at the end of 2022 amounted to 1.6 billion rubles, which is 6.7% more by 2021.

Earlier, Avtostat, with reference to the data of the Industrial Consulting Passport (PPK), published a rating of the most popular cars in Russia in 2022. The first place was taken by Lada Granta, which was bought by almost 88,000 people. The top three also included Lada Vesta and Kia Rio, which sold 32,700 and 23,900 times, respectively.
