Cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky and space flight participants Yulia Peresild and Klim Shipenko returned to Earth, the state corporation Roscosmos reported. The ship landed in Kazakhstan on Sunday at 7:35:44 Moscow time.
“The descent vehicle of the manned spacecraft Soyuz MS-18 stands upright and is under guard. The crew is feeling good! ” – the message says.
Actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko spent 12 days aboard the International Space Station. The ISS hosted the shooting of the feature film “Challenge” – the project of “Channel One”, “Roscosmos” and the studio Yellow, Black and White. According to the plot, the main character is a doctor who went into space to provide medical assistance to an astronaut. This is the first ever fictional cinematic work shot in space.
After returning to Earth, Shipenko told reporters that the Soyuz MS-19 flight was normal, and the landing was soft.
“We enjoyed it like a roller coaster, I think. Plasma, everything was on fire … We were really cheerful and perky. When the parachute fired, it began to shake a little, but, again, we felt like on a good attraction, ”said the director during the broadcast of Roscosmos.
Peresild admitted that 12 days had passed unnoticed. “I actually have a bit of a sad mood today, because it seemed to us that twelve days was a lot, and when it all ended, I didn’t want to part anymore … It’s clear that it was only once,” Peresild said.
Peresild and Shipenko left for the ISS on October 5 from the Baikonur cosmodrome. The entry into orbit took place in the normal mode. At the same time, the spacecraft could not dock with the ISS in automatic mode. The crew commander, cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, switched to manual docking mode and later successfully docked with the station.
Before the space flight, the selected candidates for the “movie crew” underwent special training. The competition for the lead role in the film was announced last November. Based on the results of medical and creative selection, Yulia Peresild and Klim Shipenko were appointed to the main crew.
