Gioja 22 is one of the short films competing for the ninth edition of the Perugia Social Film Festival
A film to give a voice to the victims in the Mediterranean. The feat of a jumper who, alone and in silence, climbs the crane of a skyscraper in via Di Gioia in Milan to show two banners with the inscription in English “Remain human”. The gesture of civil disobedience that the director of this documentary wanted to communicate, Stefano De Felici, is based on strong emotions that grab attention. As he shows in the film shot in 2020, dozens of people stopped to watch every single movement of man, who risked his life just like migrants at sea. “For me this film is a liberating rite for the pain you feel when you come into contact with the suffering of millions of people around the world”, explains De Felici. The short film is in competition in Perugia for the ninth edition of PerSo 2022the Italian social cinema festival that will take place from 1 to 9 October.
