The singer faces legal notice for calling Gandhi the father of Pakistan

(Web Desk) Indian singer Abhijit Bhattacharya has been issued a legal notice for calling Gandhi the “Father of Pakistan”.

During a podcast, singer Abhijeet compared Mahatma Gandhi with musician RD Burman and said, “Mahatma Gandhi is not the father of India but of Pakistan. India was already there, Pakistan separated from India later, Gandhi was mistakenly He has been called the father of India.”

According to Indian media, lawyer Asam Sawde has sent a notice to Abhijit on behalf of his client Manish Deshpande, demanding an immediate apology from him.

The notice says that if the singer does not apologise, a complaint will be filed against him under sections 353 (public disturbance) and 356 (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The lawyer highlighted Gandhi’s services in the notice and said that he worked tirelessly for the promotion of Hindu-Muslim unity and brotherhood. India will be partitioned, as long as I am alive, I will never accept partition.

This is not the first time that Abhijeet Bhattacharya is in the news for his statements, he recently criticized British singer Dua Lipa saying that she did not give him credit when she sang a song in Mumbai.
