jpnn.comJAKARTA – Padi guitarist, Piyu gave a sharp criticism about the imbalance of economic rights between singers and songwriters.

The criticism followed the decision of the Central Jakarta Commercial Court Judges who stated that Agnez Mo was guilty of the creation of the copyright of the song said Ari Bias’s creation.

He highlighted that often the singers enjoyed the big advantages of a song, while the creator actually had difficulty getting their rights.

“You singers hoarding diamonds while the creator of the song scavenge for crumbs for the sake of rice,” Piyu said in his Instagram upload, Thursday (6/2).

Piyu emphasized that songwriters are entitled to decent royalties, not just crumbs from the music industry.

“The songwriter only demands reasonable economic rights. There is no grandiose or fantastic here, “he said.

Piyu also regretted the existence of musicians who cornered songwriters in the Agnez Mo case with Ari Bias.

He asserted that royalty payments were not just promoter or EO responsibilities, but the obligation of all parties involved in the use of the song.
