ROME (ITALPRESS) – The singer-songwriter and cabaret artist Federico Salvatore has died at the age of 63. Born in Naples, he started playing the guitar as a self-taught at the age of 8.
He makes his first appearances in the theater, where he performs by adapting funny lyrics to the music of famous songs. His notoriety arrives in 1994 when he wins the BravoGrazie competition, which allows him to participate in the Maurizio Costanzo Show television broadcast. Federico Salvatore participates in the Festivalbar as a regular guest, and in 1996 he takes part in the Sanremo Festival where he ranks thirteenth with the piece On the door.
The song from Sanremo is included in the album Il mago di Azz, while in 1997 it is the turn of Coiote interrupted, where there is also a song dedicated to one of his idols, Totò.
In 2002 the release of the album L’osceno del VILLAGE marks a further turning point in his career, and the cabaret singer definitively gives way to the denunciation singer-songwriter. From 2004 is the album Where is the individual ?, with which he continues in the path traced by the previous work. Federico Salvatore’s texts have a comic-satirical background. His satire is set above all in the Neapolitan world, of which the singer paints the daily implications.
