Moscow sees the danger of expanding the conflict in the Middle East and assesses the situation there as explosive. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists today, as quoted by TASS.
“The situation is explosive. There is still the threat of an expansion of this conflict – geographically and politically. This carries the risk of a big explosion in the region. That is why it is very important now to show political will that will allow to avoid unnecessary escalation of tensions Peskov emphasized.
“Too many people have gathered in Rafah city, too many Palestinians. And striking Rafah could bring a multifold increase in casualties. For us, this is a matter of particular concern. We are carefully monitoring the news coming from there,” he added. .
“The West, led by the United States, is already directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, and this may delay the special military operation, but it will not change its course,” Peskov also said.
