the situation is improving in Hauts-de-France and Île-de-France thanks to an increase in deliveries

However, the situation is worsening on the Atlantic arc, while the social movement does not affect the region.

Three out of ten service stations are in difficulty on the national network, that is to say out of stock at least one product, indicates Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister for Energy Transition. A slight improvement can be seen in the two regions most subject to shortages, Hauts-de-France and Île-de-France. While 58.4% of service stations were out of at least one product yesterday, 48.4% are today. In Île-de-France, 33.9% of service stations are in difficulty, against 44.9% yesterday.

Other difficulties appear however on the territory, according to the ministry, in particular on the Atlantic arc, where 10% of the stations lack at least one fuel. However, this region is not affected by the social movement in the refineries. The minister condemns aphenomenon of precautionary overstocking which contributes to amplifying the difficulties in the field“. To correct these rebound effects of the shortage, the filling of jerrycans at the pump, already prohibited in certain departments, will now be prohibited everywhere in France.

To resolve supply difficulties, deliveries to service stations are going well in areas in difficulty: they have increased by 50% in Île-de-France and 30% in Hauts-de-France.

In addition, the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) was seized on Monday to investigate significant price increases at the pump. In one week, diesel, for example, jumped by nearly 11 cents. “I say it very clearly: we will not accept that some take advantage of the situation to artificially inflate prices”said Minister Agnès Pannier-Runacher.
