Built on an area of 850 m2, thanks to a budget of around 2.5 million DH, this brand new Complex, which is equipped with the latest equipment in the field, is another eloquent illustration of this growing interest granted by the Initiative to this section of society and to guaranteeing them a dignified life.

Registered within the framework of Program II “Support for People in Precarious Situations” of phase III of the National Initiative for Human Development, this Complex, like others set up at the national level as well as at the level of the province of Rehamna, also testifies to the High Solicitude with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI continues to surround people suffering from different types of disabilities, to the promotion of their rights and above all, to their integration into the socio-economic fabric.

This Complex, the flagship of an edifying partnership with the Ministry of Family and Solidarity, the National Mutual Aid, the province of Rehamna and the territorial commune of Skhour Rehamna, includes several outbuildings including a computer room, two professional training workshops (sewing and styling), two classrooms dedicated to special education, a physiotherapy room, a psychomotor skills room, a speech therapy and psychological support room, in addition to a green space as well as administrative outbuildings.

This structure, which is also equipped with two transport minibuses and is managed by the Association “Khotwa (not) for people with disabilities and for social actions – Skhour Rehamna, benefits a number of beneficiaries, some 128 children suffering from different types of disabilities, from six territorial municipalities, namely: “Skhour Rehamna”, “Al-Jaâfra”, “Sidi Abdellah”, “Skoura El Hadra”, “Ouled Hassoun Hamri” and “Sidi Mansour”.

The various services offered by this Complex are supervised by a staff of some 39 managers in total, including 21 for special education, 04 physiotherapists, 03 speech therapists, 01 psychological support worker, 05 trainers in sewing and styling, 02 in IT, in addition to an administrative staff.

In a statement to MAP, Ahmed Charii, in charge of the support program for people with disabilities at the Social Action Division (DAS) in the province of Rehamna, recalled that this project was launched as part of Phase 3 of the Initiative, with the main objective of achieving better support for people with disabilities.

“Considered the first of its kind in rural areas, this Complex is equipped with two minibuses intended to ensure the transport of beneficiaries from six rural municipalities,” he explained, noting that this structure was built after ensuring wide coverage of all urban centers in terms of similar social complexes dedicated to people with disabilities.

In a similar statement, Mr. El Mostapha Daouimich, Secretary General of the Association managing this Complex, highlighted the High Solicitude with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI continues to surround people with disabilities, through the promotion of their rights and the consolidation of their place within society.

This particular interest in people with disabilities has taken shape at the provincial level, through the commitment and determination of the provincial authorities to set up an integrated and developed Complex, according to the criteria in force on the architectural level, in order to accommodate, as it should be, people suffering from different types of disabilities, he explained in conclusion.
