The socialist municipal group will remember this Tuesday, the 7th, the ex-edil of the PSE-EE of Arrasate, Isaías Carrasco, who was assassinated by ETA 15 years ago. Minutes before the plenary session, at 5:50 p.m., the spokesperson, Aritz Murua, and the councilors, Yoana Sánchez and Víctor Fuentes, will each place a red rose next to the plaque located at the entrance to the plenary session, in the that this victim of ETA is remembered.
In a statement, the socialist spokesman, Aritz Murua, said that Isaías Carrasco lives in the memory of the socialists and with this small act that the municipal group of the PSE-EE will carry out in the plenary hall we also want to show our solidarity with the families of the rest of those assassinated by ETA.
«Isaías was assassinated by ETA for being a socialist. He was a councilor for Arrasate in very complicated circumstances, setting an example of firmness and commitment to peace and democracy”, he explained, after recalling that he worked for Arrasate and for the Arrasateras with his “maximum dedication and effort” and that, Therefore, “always” will be for the compañeros and compañeras of the PSE-EE of Arrasate “an example”.
He has also referred to the family of Isaías Carrasco, his widow Marian and his three children, who have fought to keep his memory “alive” and has recognized that “it is our duty as companions of Isaías to ensure that this flame remains lit and never go out.” In this sense, he has recognized that it was thanks to the “insistence” of Marian and her children, with the accompaniment of the PSE-EE, which have made it possible for there to be a plaque in the plenary hall today that commemorates the mayor assassinated
Finally, Murua has assured that the story of Isaías Carrasco will always be linked to Arrasate, just as the story of Arrasate will always be linked to Isaías Carrasco.
