The President of the Republic, HE. Mohamed Bazoum, current President of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of UEOMA, met, early yesterday evening, with the President of the Commission of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), Mr. Abdoulaye Diop.

On leaving the hearing, the President of the UEMOA Commission said that he had come to share with President Mohamed Bazoum the concerns of the actors of the economic and social life of the said Union in order to better draw the roadmap on which the President of the Commission will work throughout his mandate. Major issues related to the economic situation in the sub-region, economic growth, peace and security; the inflationary situation prevailing in the area; Concerns relating to sectoral policies which raised many questions at the level of the deputies of the Union in particular, agriculture and energy were also mentioned during this interview. Mr. Abdoulaye Diop also said that he had had a long discussion with the Head of State on the issue of the free movement of people and goods with a view to finding possible solutions so that member countries can obtain supplies regularly and at a lower cost. cost. He also expressed his full satisfaction to identify the avenues on which Niger is working so that this situation can find a lasting solution. Mr. Abdoulaye Diop finally praised all the actions that President Mohamed Bazoum has carried out in recent times and which have given, in terms of sub-regional geopolitical activities, very satisfactory results.
