Residents of the village, under the slogan “Everything for the front, everything for victory,” demonstrate unity; everyone works – from children to elderly women, because their fathers, brothers, sons went to the front to defend their homeland. However, feelings flare up between the chairman of the village council, Dzhabrail (Mihai Volontir), and a resident of the village of Sayali (Liya Eliava), whose husband, Mukhtar, went missing at the front. Sayala’s son Tapdig (Akif Maharramov) and the village residents protest this “vicious love.” Another son, Dzhumru (Shamil Suleymanov), goes crazy from shock. Lonely women are trying to arrange lynching of the chairman, but the strong word of elder Isfandiyar kishi (Mamedrza Sheikhzamanov) forces him to leave the village.
