Mr. Rousopoulos is currently visiting the Kingdom to participate in the seminar, which will be held on Tuesday at the initiative of the Moroccan Parliament and PACE, on the occasion of the closing of the project “Support for the development of the role of Parliament in the consolidation of democracy in Morocco 2020-2023”, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
During this meeting, the two parties discussed the different aspects of cooperation between the Moroccan Parliament and the PACE, indicates a press release from the House of Representatives, noting that Mr. Talbi Alami welcomed, on this occasion, the assessment of joint parliamentary cooperation and programs adopted by the two parties within the framework of the status of Partner for Democracy with the PACE from which Morocco has benefited since 2011.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives also highlighted the major projects launched by the Kingdom and the achievements made under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, for the consolidation of the democratic structure, the promotion human rights and strengthening the place of women within society and elected institutions.
Mr. Talbi Alami also presented extensive explanations on parliamentary action, the legislative procedure, and the major bills currently under examination.
For his part, the PACE President welcomed the level of cooperation between the Parliamentary Assembly and the Moroccan Parliament as well as the steps taken in this regard, expressing the strong desire of the PACE to strengthen this cooperation in other areas.
