The Ministry of Youth and Sports approved funds in the amount of BGN 4,730 million for the current year for the activities of the federations administering non-Olympic sports. The financial support for 2024 is implemented through the Program for financial support of sports development projects for high achievements of non-Olympic sports and the Program for financial support of projects for personnel and scientific-methodical provision of sports federations.
Funds will be received by 25 federations, and their number is greater compared to the previous year. In the accompanying staffing program, the remuneration of all coaches and officials has been increased by an average of 15% compared to 2023, and the possibility of concluding not only civil contracts but also labor contracts has been added. For the first time, a second national coach and a doctor can be included in the projects of the non-Olympic sports federations according to the specifics of the sport.
For the purpose of greater transparency, information related to the implementation of the project activities of the federations administering both Olympic and non-Olympic sports will be published on the website of the respective sports federation.
