In the early hours of this Sunday, February 12, one of the great events of world sport is celebrated, the grand final of the Super Bowlin which the two best teams in the American football championship of the season compete: the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
But beyond the sporting event, it is an appointment long awaited by the traditional marathon of advertising spots dedicated to imminent film releases and, increasingly, television series. Advertisements whose appearance costs millions of dollars in response to the spectacular audience that the meeting achieves, last year around 112 million viewers.
Marvel Premieres
Among the confirmed announcements for the Super Bowl 2023 are the upcoming titles of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniathe film that officially kicks off phase 5, opening in theaters this Friday, February 17; Guardians of the Galaxy. Flight. 3, in theaters May 5; and The Marvelssequel to the 2019 title Captain Marvelwith a release for July 28.
The Flash, de DC
In return, you can also see the spot of The Flash, opening June 16, the thirteenth film in the DC Extended Universe based on the speedy superhero. Horror movies will be present through titles such as Scream VI‘, a new installment of the franchise, in which the four survivors of the latest Woodsboro massacre leave their hometown behind to start a new chapter in New York. We will miss this time Neve Campbell like Sidney Prescott, but not like that Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, or Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega as Sam and Tara Carpenter. The Paramount Pictures film will hit theaters on March 10.
The major film will also launch spots for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor between dronespremiere tape on March 31 that transports the magical world of the legendary role-playing game of Dungeons and Dragons to the big screen in an action-packed adventure, directed by Jonathan Goldstein y John Francis Daleycon Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez y Hugh Grant, among others; and of Transformers: Rise of the Beastswhich is expected for June 9, a new episode in the ongoing battle on Earth between the Autobots and Decepticons, based on the Hasbro toys.
Vicious Oso, from Deadline
will also be announced vicious bearof Deadline, with a release date of April 5, a wild black comedy inspired by the true story of the plane crash that in 1985 caused a drug dealer to lose the cocaine he was carrying, which ended up being ingested by a black bear. It is directed by Elizabeth Banks and starring Ray Liotta y Keri Russell.
Disney Releases
Disney will unveil commercials for The little Mermaidlive action version of the 1989 classic directed by Rob Marshallnominated for an Oscar for Best Director in 2003 for Chicagoand the new original animated film Elementalof Pixar, set in the fictional Element City, where the residents of Fire, Water, Earth and Air live together. These titles have a release date for May 26 and June 16, respectively.
Fast & Furious 10, de Universal Pictures
Universal Pictures has also confirmed the progress of Fast & Furious 10, opening on May 19; and the lively Super Mario Bros: The Moviewhich will arrive on March 31.
John Wick 4, de Warner Bros
In addition, the announcement of the neo-noir action thriller is expected John Wick 4from Warner Bros. Directed by Chad Stahelski y starring Keanu Reevesits filming ended in October 2021 but various delays have led its premiere to March 24 of this year.
