On April 19, the Grodno Regional Court announced the verdict of 48-year-old Fyodor Shvedov. He was accused under Art. 361-2 of the Criminal Code (financing the activities of an extremist group). Judge Vitaly Kulesh sentenced Fedor to three and a half years in prison, writes Vesna.

As propagandists reported, the man donated 52 rubles 88 kopecks to the “Honest People” initiative, 26 rubles 7 kopecks to the Belarusian Rada of Culture initiative, and another 26 rubles 20 kopecks to the By_Help foundation.

At the trial, Fedor Shvedov partially admitted his guilt. He explained that “he did not intend to provide funds to extremist groups, but transferred the money for charitable purposes to help pay fines, lawyer services, and medicines to people participating in protests.”
