CASTEL DI SANGRO. “I am very much in favor of the Green Pass ordered by the government: of course, it places limits on my sector, but it is a very strong incentive to have people vaccinated, which is the condition for planning our future, with other closures it would be the drama”.
The Abruzzo region goes against the tide Niko Romito, 46-year-old well-known three-star chef from Castel di Sangro, commenting on the new Covid decree approved by the Council of Ministers, which requires a certificate from 6 August, in possession of those who have been vaccinated with at least one dose, to access to a range of services, including indoor table drinks in restaurants and bars.
“At this moment the Green pass can be limiting”, admits Romito, “but personally I prefer to have, for example, 25 seats instead of 30, rather than compromising my future in the medium and long term, in the event that in six to eight months tracing the infections with consequent restrictive measures and lockdowns like those we have known ». According to the chefs, such a scenario “would represent a very hard blow to a sector that has already experienced very severe difficulties in this last year”.
Romito for six months in the Italy pavilion at the Dubai Expo, will manage two gastronomic spaces, including an exclusive restaurant with eight tables.
