I grew up abroad and have already covered the topic here more than once. We had a wooden shed with rota, which certainly made the construction work more complex. The work, in fact, of my grandfather, who cut down some pine trees and with the strength of his arm built that engineering marvel: large, imposing and functional. Pole columns, beams, sleepers and scissors, all in raw wood. No one knows the year for sure, but I believe he did all this in the 1920s; Without the aid of more suitable tools, he erected the shed with the strength of his arm and with the help of a pole, a saw, a chisel, a hammer, a nail, an ax and a machete.
I was already an adult, I lived in the capital and the Sport Club Internacional was already a three-time Brazilian champion, when my father decided to rebuild the warehouse with iron stone and a concrete structure. Another beautiful work, even more so for that deep countryside. Part of the wood of the old garage is still there, dividing the interior and guaranteeing the ancient appearance that he insisted on maintaining, to the joy of the children who grew up in the family.
I was reminded of this part of my life a few days ago while watching a documentary about castles in Romania. This is because those people built works of art in an era in which the tools were precarious compared to today, with an aggravating circumstance: the vast majority were built on mountains, on peaks. Real pirambeiras. There is no way not to compare it to today, when we build in an industrial way, practically, without there being beauty and often even quality in what rises from the ground (almost always flat). I’m not criticizing anything or anyone, I’m just nostalgic as always.
Even buildings today are ephemeral, like all of our lives.
Football doesn’t differ much from this, it’s true, but it’s one of the rare exceptions that always manages to ensure that the team that doesn’t even have the most substantial investments or that has “industrialised” the exercise of its main activity, transforms xucrism in a title. There are several factors at play, emotional, tactical, technical, physical and even subjective: sometimes an “alignment of the stars” is enough. I don’t believe in witches but they are there, they are there. So, whoever is closest to all this or more “aligned” can win and surprise.
Internacional football is no longer a surprise to the rest of the teams in the league, nor to the eyes of the “experts” in the rest of the country. However, it would be a surprise to even the most optimistic people, myself included, if we came first in the last round of the Brasileirão in December. It wouldn’t be a surprise for football and its magic.
With few resources and little engineering knowledge, my grandfather built his massive warehouse in the middle of nowhere and despite the neighborhood’s bad omen. Nothing is impossible if the stars are aligned with our Inter, yes.
As for the field team’s engineering, Professor Roger already has the knowledge, so much so that his mechanism worked and the results are there so I’m not allowed to lie. We also have alternatives, both in the way of playing and in the human resources to change a game. The focus also seems to be there. Players, technical staff and personal In general, they have proven to follow the same path. And the team on the field is happy, as well as off.
Therefore, we now need a star alignment in order to deliver the final blow. Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? I believe the answer lies in my grandfather’s act of courage when he proved his worth with a hammer.
Courage, international!
SHORTS
– Professor Roger Machado demonstrated with his victory in the classic a happiness that goes far beyond a goal as a coach;
– They sent me a video of the Borré family, who now has a personalized box in Beira Rio. Without being too optimistic, but we already know these types of stories well and even more so their outcome;
– Alan Patrick is doing the trick;
– In the technical field, nothing beats the purchase of Fernando in the first half; and from what we have seen, from Bruno Tabata now at the end of the year;
– Bernabei is a full-back of great value, even if the vast majority of the opponent’s plays take place behind him. Even so, it had been hours since we last had a left-back of his calibre;
– The renewal with the big man Ricardo Mathias was the big news at the beginning of the week. It will bear fruit for us on and off the field;
– Valdomiro Vaz Franco deserves all this and much more. In addition to being a great player, he was the greatest Colorado we’ve ever had representing us on the field. And the largest number 7 in the South, yes. And final point;
– But the icing on the cake was the video of Mr. Airton Sakis, who tells our story of 79 years of fatherhood in analogy with his reliable existence. I saw my life as a flash of Colorado before my eyes with this masterpiece of marketing of the Club and I was moved. This land has an owner. And there are many like me who live this passion all their lives.
REQUEST
Didn’t I say we would win?
This land has an owner! And soon we will take Brazil too. Courage, international!
