According to the DPK, the Lithuanian authorities use any pretext to prevent the movement of not only goods, but also to reduce the flow of Lithuanians traveling “without a visa”.

“Lithuanian side, making similar decisions, purposefully and intentionally creates artificial barriers on the border to satisfy political ambitions,” the DPK said.

According to statistics, after the closure of the Shumsk/Loša and Tsverach/Vidzy crossings, the queues in front of the Latvian checkpoints increased. But Lithuania still remains the busiest destination. The biggest queue is in Medniki (Kamenny Log from Belarus).

According to the DPK of Belarus, the queue in front of the only Polish checkpoint in Tarespol (Beraście), which functions for passenger transport, “has tripled in a day – from 80 to 240 cars.”
