One of the most prestigious and exciting chess events of the year starts on August 3, Saturday. The State Chess Championship is expected to bring together our most distinguished national players who will battle it out for the men’s and women’s titles.
The championship, whose general sponsor is Palms Bet, will be held at the Black&White Club, part of the Palms Royale Sofia complex in Sofia, and is expected to offer a spectacular show to all fans of the ancient game.
The opening ceremony will take place on August 3 at 14:30, followed by the first round at 15:00. The awarding of the winners will take place on the last day of the championship – August 10 at 2:00 p.m.
The prize fund of BGN 25,000, which is provided by Palms Bet, Accedia and Nadezhda Vi, will be distributed among the winners, with the event being broadcast live online, allowing fans to follow the game in real time.
The organization of the event is a joint effort of the Bulgarian Chess Federation 2022 together with Palms Bet, who actively support chess in Bulgaria and work to ensure good conditions for its practice.
