The State Forensic Medicine Service will be headed by Valdemaras Sviackevičius

“I believe that Valdemaras Sviackevičius, with his many years of leadership experience, will significantly contribute to the development of innovative forensic medicine in Lithuania – he will apply advanced management solutions, strengthen the motivation of employees, and take care of the attraction of new specialists and proper training.

This is important in order to increase the prestige of the forensic medicine expert profession and the public’s trust in the State Forensic Medicine Service”, says Minister of Health Aurimas Pečkauskas.

Thanking you for the trust, the new head of VTMT V. Sviackevičius promises to ensure the continuity of the work of the service and take care of the necessary innovations.

“Using my available knowledge and work experience, I will strive to effectively implement these expectations, as well as many other actions aimed at improving the institution’s image. (…) It is important to me that everyone receiving the services of the State Forensic Medicine Service feels a professional, impartial and fair approach”, says V. Sviackevičius.

The new head of VTMT obtained a master’s degree in management and marketing studies from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, and before that, a bachelor’s degree in economics.

V. Sviackevičius has accumulated more than twenty years of work experience in various state institutions. For many years, he worked at the National Payment Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Information and Rural Business Center of the Public Enterprise, the Agricultural Data Center of the Public Enterprise – he managed departments in various fields, managed joint company projects, and has experience in international project management.
