Did you miss the news this early morning? We’ve put together a recap to help you see things more clearly.

Even if the situation is still uncertain, the sky should thunder less violently this Monday in France. After the stormy deterioration on Sunday, Météo-France indeed confirmed the end of orange vigilance in its last bulletin at 6 a.m. However, the weather will still be unstable in many regions. On an axis stretching from New Aquitaine and Pays-de-la-Loire to Ile-de-France, Grand-Est and Burgundy via the Center region, some 63 departments are still in yellow vigilance mainly for thunderstorms. A rise in orange level is not excluded, Météo-France therefore advises to follow “any updates to vigilance during the day”.

While the European budgetary rules, suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic, will apply again next year, the government is seeking to accelerate the improvement of public finances. For this, he is organizing an Assizes on Monday with the aim of highlighting the billions of euros in savings necessary to allow France to redress accounts degraded by successive crises. Organized in Bercy on the initiative of the Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire and his colleague in charge of Public Accounts Gabriel Attal, in the presence of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, these are however shunned by the main associations of local elected officials. , disagreeing with the government’s solutions.

The government wants to tackle the negative externalities of mass tourism. Like many tourist destinations, France has to deal with “overtourism”. The government therefore unveiled its plan on Sunday evening to regulate tourist flows and in particular the peaks in attendance which overwhelm sites at certain times of the year. Among the measures announced: a digital platform, bringing together numerous resources, developed by Atout France will be launched in the first half of 2024, but also a national observatory of major tourist sites. In France, 80% of tourist activity is concentrated on 20% of the territory, according to the government
