Palladam: Palladam-Tharapuram road is being widened into a four-lane road by the Highways Department.
The farmers alleged that the ongoing construction of the ground bridge in the Kallakinaru area has resulted in the absence of a road.
Farmers said, “Many farmers in this area come to the main road using the stream here as a route. The natural stream has been encroached and mysterious. Hence, we are using the artificial stream as a route. In this situation, the existing route is also being closed due to the ground level bridge being constructed by the highway department. The ground level bridge should be constructed at a distance of 10 m.”
The farmers requested Arun Babu, assistant engineer of the highway department, who came to inspect there.
“You have to tell the revenue department about the mysterious flow. He assured that appropriate action will be taken after informing the Assistant Divisional Engineer about the replacement of the bridge.
