The round was led by the German company Dr. Schär, which thus enters the capital of the Catalan Cara Care, and Sabadell Asabys and Johnson & Johnson Innovation, which were already shareholders in the company, also took part.

Dr. Schärt is a German company specializing in gluten-free food and nutrition products. The entry of this partner may open up new opportunities for Cara Care to integrate nutritional elements into its digital therapy tool. In this way, explains Guillem Masferrer, investment director of Sabadell Asabys, Cara Care manages to explore possible pharmacological and nutritional synergies with two of its main partners, Johnson & Johnson and Dr. Schärt.

Cara Care offers a technological application for patients with irritable bowel syndrome who with their software allows to improve the digestive health of the patient. Earlier this year, the application was approved by the Federal Institute of Medicines and Medical Devices – the German regulator – allowing doctors to prescribe the use of the application and the country’s insurers. reimburse patients who use it up to 80% of its cost. A decision that has boosted the turnover of Cara Care, which is expected to reach one million euros this year, according to Masferrer.

Cara Care is a digital therapy company that was born in 2017 and is headquartered in Berlin. In 2019 Sabadell Asabys became the capital of the company, of which it is the first investor.

As Cara Care closes this $ 7 million round of Series B funding, the company has announced the incorporation of James as its chief executive.
