The success of the first kidney removal operation in Sudan

The National Center for Kidney Diseases and Surgery in Sudan revealed the success of the first kidney removal operation in Sudan through a laparoscopy device, on Monday.

The operation was carried out in a kidney transplant center by an integrated Sudanese medical team of surgeons, consultants and specialists, led by Dr. Nizar Zalfo, Director of the National Kidney Center, and in the presence of the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim.

For his part, the Minister of Health affirmed interest in programs that provide free services within the free treatment package, in addition to providing distinguished medical services and training medical personnel.

He pointed out that the program is very advanced in performing kidney operations, and is one of the most successful programs that contribute effectively to the localization of kidney disease treatment in Sudan, according to the Sudanese newspaper, “The Day After.” He affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to implementing all plans and strategies, research and scientific studies due to their importance in developing health services and exploiting available resources in a satisfactory manner and keeping pace with the world’s development.
