The storytelling of the “Daring Ladies” and the delivery by the Councilor for Culture, Juan Carlos Monroy, of a gift to the boys and girls who have completed their reader passport with 10 stamps, have put an end to this season of the Reading Booths, an initiative launched by the Department of Culture of the Segovia City Council and managed from the Casa de la Lectura-Municipal Library.

During the months of July and August, 3,474 loans were made, of which 330 corresponded to books at home, 985 were delivered directly to the parks and 2,159 were newspaper loans. A total of 2,584 people have passed through the organized activities.

The objective of these Summer Libraries is to make citizens enjoy reading in the city parks, as well as to promote the reading habit in an original and different way, as highlighted by the Councilor for Culture, Juan Carlos Monroy. These spaces have had a bibliographic collection made up of more than 3,000 books distributed among the six reading booths located in the municipal swimming pool, in the San Roque gardens, in the Parque de las Delicias de San Lorenzo, in the Parque de la Dehesa in San José, in the Parque del Peñascal in the Albuera neighborhood and in the Parque del Reloj in Nueva Segovia.
